Abstract

The present experiment was carried out at College Farm. N. M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari, Gujarat, India during the kharif season of the year 2023 and 2024 to assess the periodical growth attributes of the rice varieties as influenced due to the various zinc fertility level. The experiment was laid out in FRBD which consisted of two factors namely, two varieties and nine different zinc fertility levels. So, total of eighteen combination treatments were assessed. The result revealed that the various growth parameters i. e., plant height at 20, 40, 60 and 90 DAS; dry matter accumulation at 30, 60 and 90 DAS and total number of tillers per hill observed were significantly higher for the GR 15 variety as compared to GNR 3 variety. And among the various fertility levels, the soil application of ZnSO4 at 25 kg ha-1 and foliar application of ZnSO4 at 1 % at tillering and panicle initiation stage resulted in significantly higher growth parameters i. e., plant height at 40, 60 and 90 DAT, dry matter accumulation at 30, 60 and 90 DAT and total number of tillers per hill at harvest. So, it can be said that the GR 15 variety was superior to GNR 3 variety and from zinc treatments the soil application of ZnSO4 at 25 kg ha-1 and foliar application of ZnSO4 at 1 % at tillering and panicle initiation stage gave better results in terms of different growth attributes.
