An in vitro and pot experiment was conducted to evaluate selected fungicides and organic amendments against Rhizoctonia bataticola associated with soybean root rot. Diseased soybean samples were collected from fields at the Agriculture Research Station, Ummedganj, Kota, and processed at the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Ummedganj, Kota. The in vitro experiment was laid out in a completely randomised design with three replications, using the poisoned food technique on potato dextrose agar medium. Seven fungicides were evaluated: carbendazim 12% + mancozeb 63% WS, carbendazim 50% WP, tebuconazole 25.9% EC, mancozeb 75% WP, carboxin 37.5% + thiram 37.5% WS, hexaconazole 5% SC and penflufen 13.28% w/w + trifloxystrobin 13.28% w/w. Tebuconazole 25.9% EC at 20, 50 and 100 ppm and carboxin 37.5% + thiram 37.5% WS at 100, 150 and 200 ppm completely inhibited mycelial growth. Hexaconazole 5% SC recorded 97.52, 100.00 and 100.00% inhibition, while penflufen + trifloxystrobin recorded 95.78, 96.63 and 98.33% inhibition at 20, 50 and 100 ppm, respectively. In the pot experiment, neem cake at 25 g/pot combined with carboxin + thiram seed treatment at 3 g/kg produced the highest germination (83.33%), final plant population (76.67%) and yield (49.83 g/pot), with the lowest seed rot (6.67%).
