This sector is characterized by high-risk exposure, rapid technological advancements, stringent regulatory environments, and volatile market conditions, all of which necessitate ongoing and constant learning and adaptation. Investment in human capital is critical for the industry to operate progressive technologies and to remain productive and competitive (Edwin, 2015). This article discusses the necessity of CPD to personnel in the oil and gas industry, elaborating on the benefits it brings to individual professionals and organizations alike. It outlines the stages of CPD, including identification and planning, learning, reflection, and application. The article also explores effective strategies for implementing CPD and addresses the challenges that may arise, offering practical solutions to overcome these obstacles.
